Five Spiritual Practices

At the Alameda Spiritual Living Center, we follow the five spiritual practices taught by most world religions:

Meditation ~ Meditation allows us to center ourselves in the Divine, quiet our minds, so we may hear the voice of God.

Affirmative Prayer ~ Affirmative prayer is knowing your connection to the Divine and using positive, affirming language as you speak to God. It is knowing that your prayer is already answered because God always says YES!

Seva ~ This is a Sikh term meaning selfless service. This is providing service in and around our community without any thought of reward or personal benefit.

Joyful Sharing of Our Resources (time, talents, money) ~ We know that as we give, so we receive. This is a powerful spiritual principle of abundance and reciprocity.

Inquiry ~ This is study that allows us to transform and grow whether through reading books, attending classes, workshops, and/or life experiences.
