About Rev. Ouida J. Cooper-Rodriguez
Rev. Ouida J. Cooper-Rodriguez is a Spiritual Explorer!
As the Founder/Senior Minister/Spiritual Director of the Alameda Spiritual Living Center, she is a twice ordained Interfaith Minister through the Univeral Life Church and Celebration! Center. She has studied at the New Seminary in New York City and has extensive study in world religions and customs. She was an affiliate Minister at The Home of Truth Spiritual Center in Alameda,CA and is a Prayer Chaplain Training Facilitator. She was the Founder of the Alameda Interfaith Network and is a member of United Interfaith Ministries. She has a BA in Behavioral Science/Psychology and an MA in Management. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Emerson Theological Institute.
Rev. Ouidas ancestry is American Indian, Afro-Cuban, and European and her personal spiritual practice embraces Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Science of Mind, American Indian, New Thought, and Yoruba customs.
She is dedicated to honoring each individuals unique spiritual Path and providing a supportive, inclusive, joy-filled spiritual community that embraces and celebrates all religions, faith traditions and cultures. She celebrates the uniqueness and divinity in each person and in every tradition.
She is also an Urban Shamanic Practitioner, Sacred Shamanic Drummer, Transformational Movement & Dance Practitioner, Ritualist, and Ceremonial Leader. She is a student of traditional Shamanism and a form of Neo-Shamanism called Trance Dance. She is also a Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master Teacher, and Certified Spiritual/Intuitive Counselor.
She is a poet and writer and writes sacred poetry and short stories. She will self-publish a book of sacred writings in late 2008.
She is the very proud Grandmother of 7-year old Jaelyn Monee Cooper who reminds her to sing and dance when you want to, and cry when you need to.
Rev. Ouida resides in the beautiful East Bay island community of Alameda, CA.
Rev. Ouida is also available for weddings, LGBT commitment ceremonies, memorials, and counseling. Namaste.
